Feeling confident as a college student can be as difficult as hitting every punchline your first time doing stand-up comedy at an open mic event. Yet when young adults start asking themselves, “Why Not Me?” and stop self-sabotaging their success due to a lack of self-assurance, they become empowered to pursue their passions with courage.
Combining her experience as a training facilitator with her personal journey as a comedian, Lori's talks teach college students to implement purposeful changes with a fresh perspective on embodying self-confidence.

Meet Lori
Lori Sharma is a keynote speaker and storyteller. She began this career inspired by experiences in corporate training and comedy theater.
While working as a training facilitator in government procurement, Lori discovered that many young professionals struggle with a lack of confidence when they enter the workplace. Combined with her expertise and desire to help, she took to the stage with the goal of reaching as many people as possible in the realm of personal development. Today, her talks will teach college students self-confidence hacks so they can jump-start their careers with courage and excitement.
As a comedian, Lori is no stranger to the stage. She performs improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy at various venues throughout the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. In 2024 she received Push Comedy Theater’s “Pushie” award for female breakout performer of the year, voted by her fellow thespians. In 2025 she was cast in the all-female sketch comedy ensemble Panties in a Twist, and performed in the Virginia Stage Company’s historic Wells Theater in Norfolk.
Lori has also worked for the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM Enterprise) for over sixteen years. In 2013, she was awarded the Secretary of Defense medal for the Global War on Terrorism for her mission-critical work in support of military service members on Camp Lemonnier Combined Joint Task Force in Djibouti, Africa. She is a two-time recipient of the Enterprise’s On-The-Spot awards, first 2015 and again in 2019, for her efforts in implementing supply chain efficiencies. In 2023 Lori received the Superior Accomplishment Recognition Award (SARA) for her work on multiple projects within the Vendor Support team. Her professional skills include business writing & analytics, contract management, procurement, and customer service. She is also fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Lori has a BSB from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of Louisiana. In 2025, she graduated from The Speaker Lab's VIP Accelerator Course in Keynote Speaking. In her free time, Lori enjoys strength training, yoga, being out in nature, and of course performing in comedy. She also loves traveling and spending time with her family.

It is important that college students build self-confidence as they make the transition from teenagers to young adults. Confidence directly impacts a student’s ability to maximize their full potential when giving research presentations, leading student organizations, and interviewing for jobs.
This keynote speech focuses on teaching college students nine different confidence hacks in fun and effective ways which will give them the courage to pursue their passions.

Lori Sharma is an improv, sketch, and stand-up comedian. She loves character work, has a knack for doing different voices and accents, and is fluent in Spanish. She is trained and has performed in the following improvisational structures: long-form Asssscat; various short-form ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ style games; Harold; musical Armando; musical madrigal.
